Maria is a Paris-based artist working in painting and ceramics. Dreamy, playful and often humorous, Maria's work blend mythology, fantasy, nature and contemporary culture. In her new body of work, The Vanity Series, currently in progress, she contrasts nature and culture to explore themes of beauty, imperfection, constructed ideals and societal expectations.

Maria is a Paris-based artist working in painting and ceramics. Her work combines Parisian influences with cultural references from her native Russia, as well as her background in brand strategy. Dreamy, playful and often humorous, Maria's work blends her experiences and interests: nature, animals, contemporary media, modern luxury culture, Parisian lifestyle, Russian folklore, and historical and anthropological references. Through her work, Maria often contrasts nature and culture to explore themes of beauty, imperfection and constructed ideals. She tries to come to terms with the fact that in life many things remain beyond our control and explores how we can accept and find beauty in flaws within ourselves and around us.
